Signal Hill is experiencing an unprecedented challenge as we face the Covid-19 Corona Virus health crisis. This fund will support the most vulnerable in our community.


The SIGNAL HILL COVID-19 RELIEF FUND will support community-based organizations at the frontlines of the coronavirus response in Signal Hill. 


Donations will be made to support approved 501(C)3 nonprofit, educational, volunteer and governmental organizations working on these efforts.

WAYS TO RECEIVE


INDIVIDUALS

Individuals should visit the Signal Hill’s corona virus information website: http://www.cityofsignalhill.org/coronavirus or call the LA County Health Department hotline *211 for all personal coronavirus related issues and/or questions.


SIgnal Hill Community Services offers a Brown Bag weekly grocery distribution program for eligible residents, currently accepting applications.  Groceries will be left at the door to avoid any contact between staff and participants. Individuals suffering from job loss should contact the EDD website: https://edd.ca.gov and start unemployment and underemployed applications. The  EDD phone number is 1-800-480-3287.

The Signal Hill Community Foundation SIGNAL HILL COVID-19 RELIEF FUND Grants from this fund will be made to support the most vulnerable in our community and will support community-based organizations at the frontlines of the coronavirus response in Signal Hill. SIGNAL HILL COVID-19 Relief Fund Grant

GRANT AMOUNT

Grant requests up to $2,000 will be accepted, the program may be changed based on funding and donations. Exceptions will be considered for highly scalable programs that are able to serve an exceptional number of individuals.  


ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

These grants will be made to qualified organizations for COVID-19-related impacts whose needs are not being filled by state, federal, or other funding.  These include, but are not limited to:

  • Grants to nonprofits serving low-income individuals affected by COVID-19 to pay for critical expenses;  
  • Grants to nonprofits providing emergency funds for workers laid off as a result of COVID-19; 
  • Grants to nonprofits providing assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness for sheltering, food, sanitation supplies to mitigate the spread COVID-19, and to quarantine as a result of COVID-19 exposure, and 
  • Grants to nonprofits and government agencies to provide food and critical supply delivery to those who are home-bound.


Funding is subject to change according to availability and need. 

GRANT REPORTING

Reports for expenditures and uses are due 6 months from the date the grants have been received.
